Riccardo and Claudia Agostini opened their delightful Il Piastrino back in 2007, paying out of pocket for the renovation of this ancient farmhouse immersed in the lush green of Begni Park. Nestled in the hills behind Rimini and San Marino, Il Piastrino’s cuisine features ingredients from the gentle hills of Montefeltro to the Marecchia River, all the way to the Adriatic Sea: eel cooked on coals, mandarin, chicory and carnation, or passatelli (a thick fresh pasta made with leftover bread and local cheese), juniper, mountain broth and preserved mushrooms.
