On the top floor of the majestic Venaria Palace, located 20 minutes outside of the city center and the former residence of the House of Savoy, the talented Alfredo Russo offers a convincing version of Piedmontese cooking. Thecuisine befits the setting, with a strong focus on comfortable, bourgeois dishes.But Russo also sneaks the occasisonalmodern flourish into a dish, as in hissignature oil and parmesan pasta. The view of the gardens from the palace windows is astonishing.
