Set along the banks of Lake Orta, Villa Crespi is the home of the Neapolitan born Antonino Cannavacciuolo, who before becoming the gentle giant of Italian television because of his appearances on the local version of Master Chef, had successfully combined the butter-based cooking of northern Italy and the olive oil–based cooking of the south with a touch of classic French style. But fame has its costs and Cannavacciuolo’s menu hasn’t changed much over the years. Still, it is worth paying a visit to the restaurant in order to experience his signature dishes and the flawless service.
