In a city obsessed with its culinary tradition, gourmet restaurants tend to either provide a refined version of it or position themselves as far as possible from it. At Marco Martini, they’ve adopted a different approach, taking single elements of the tradition and inserting them in genuinely surprising dishes – for example, a tortello inspired by the ubiquitous “pizza bianca,” with mortadella and pistachio, or squid cooked like a scaloppina al vino. Its location, inside a charming villa appointed in Art Nouveau style, and the outstanding cocktail bar on the premises are only more reasons to visit.
