One of Italy’s most unique restaurants is located on the islet of Mazzorbo, a short steamboat ride from Venice, although it feels as if it’s a world away. A walled vineyard adorned with a 14th-century bell tower contains the beautiful vegetable garden where Chiara Pavan and Francesco Brutto grow many of the ingredients that make up their vegetable-forward cuisine. Dinner depends on what the garden has to offer: gnocchi with unripened figs and tarragon oil (green and pungent​​​ rather than sweet) or risotto with tomato water, filippendula (the herb meadowsweet, grown on the estate) and ​​​​​​​​raw scampi from the Adriatic.
