At The Goring, the hotel that was issued a Royal Warrant by her late Majesty and was Margaret Thatcher’s regular haunt during her tenure in office, it feels tantamount to treason not to order the long-standing classics – the beef Wellington for two, the lobster omelet, or the Queen Mother’s favorite, eggs Drumkilbo. But there is more to the aristocratically appointed dining room than that – for example, rich Aquarello risotto, girolles, confit egg yolk, smoked butter and truffle, or Anjou pigeon with salt-baked golden beetroot, apricot and liver parfait. Tip-top breakfasts too.
