If it’s wow factor you’re after, look no further than Aqua Shard, on level 31 of the U.K.’s tallest building. The food has to work a bit harder than at the average restaurant to grab your attention but does so with its attractively executed, classical British cuisine. Venison with parsnip and blackberry jus is a modern classic, so too Cornish cod and rope-grown mussels with a saffron emulsion. Menus range from £49 for three courses at lunch to, at dinner, a £120 “scenic selection” with a glass of champagne for the lucky folk with window tables.
